Everyone wants to have a hairstyle that looks great on them. Most
people do not understand that their face determines what hairstyle
will look best. We are going to look at the six different types of
face shapes. We will also look at how to determine what face shape
you have. Finally we will go over what women’s hairstyles will
not go with the different face shapes.
Diamond face type is when your jaw bone and forehead are equal
length and the face is widest around the cheek bone. The heart shaped
face is when you have wide cheekbones and forehead but had a narrow
jaw line. Oblong faces are longer than they are wide. Oval face
types general have a length that is greater than the width. The
round face types generally are the same length and width. The square
type of face is close to the round face type having almost the same
width and length but you can be easily tell if it a square or a
round face type. Finally we have the triangular face type. With
the triangular face type you will have narrow cheek bones and a
dominant jaw line.
With a diamond face you want to avoid having your style in your
face you have a great face shape and should show it off. Diamond
face types also may want to try and leave some weight near the nape
of your hair this will help bring out your cheek bone and that great
chin line.
People with a heart shaped face type may want to try
shorter hairstyles that will help show off the upper portion of
your face. However, you do not want to make the top of your hair
to heavy this will make your face look to have to much weight, also
have some weight to the nape area of your hair so that your hair
brings out your cheekbones. For those women that have the oblong
face type you generally want to keep it short to mid length. When
you have your hair to long it makes your face seem even longer.
Usually about shoulder length is as long as you should let it go.
The oval face type people may want to avoid a lot of bangs in your
face you have great features and really shouldn’t hide them
behind a lot of hair. Your face shape does allow you more freedom
with your hairstyle than most face types. Next let us look at the
round face type you want to try layering your hair having the height
and fullness at the top of your hair try having the rest of your
hair cut close to the face area this will give you a look of a narrower
and longer face. With the square face type you generally want to
soften the lines of your face with a wispy look around the face
usually going with a short or medium length will assist and softening
your face as well. Finally let us look at the triangular face type.
Most people with a triangular face type want to go with a shorter
hairstyle with lots of layers, also you want to try and make the
hair fuller toward the temple area to show off features that are
usually hidden.
