Curly hair is one of those subjects you do not hear much about today.
Years ago, curling irons were all the rage, and perms were the most
popular styles to get done. Nowadays, you find curling irons on the
back shelf while hair straightening devices are skyrocketing in sales
figures. An interesting dynamic to the curly hairstyle and human psyche
is many who were born with curly hair want straight hair, and those
born with straight hair want curly hair. I suppose it’s like
my mother always used to tell me: no matter how much you have, you
will always want and/or need more. For those who are concerned with
their hair and its style, we luckily live in a world where style is
important, and there are several products on the market to give anyone
with any hair any style they desire.
Whether you have curly or straight hair, there are several styles
you can choose from if you’re going for the curly hair. From
short, medium, long hair as well as formal and informal occasions,
you’ll find that the choices there are plentiful enough that
anyone can find one that suits them best. When going with a curly
hairstyle, though, you will want to be sure to take care and keep
those curls in line, else they could easily ruin your otherwise
beautiful hairstyle.

First, take a look at your shampoo. It may be time to choose a
new one. You want to be sure your shampoo is designed to reduce
frizz while also enhancing your curls and shine. What about your
conditioner? Here, you will want to look for a conditioner that
is formulated to enhance your hair’s shine and limit frizz.
Then, there is a curl enhancer. Another product you may not have
heard of. Get one of these and put it with your shampoo and conditioner.
The curl enhancer is made so that your curls will tighten, but it
won’t make your hair frizzy. Next, once your hair is dry,
there is something called a curl controller. Some use the curl controller
in addition to a curling iron. The curl enhancer prevents frizz
while enhancing and shaping individual curls.
There are a handful of other physical products you’re going
to need to choose while styling your curly hair. Do not use a brush.
Brushes only enhance frizzing—something we have been trying
to limit through this entire process, remember? Instead use a comb
or pick. In some cases you might use both a comb and pick or multiple
combs and picks, to angle in and get the hair going in just the
right direct. You will also want to make sure you have a hot roller
or curling iron, to help define and shape specific curls in your
new hairstyle. There are different sized rollers and curling iron
barrels, so make sure you have the right one to get the right size
curl. For some curly hair styles, trying to get that perfect curl
might take some ingenuity such as using the back of a pencil or
brush and a diffuser. In all, it might take some experimentation
at first, but once you find the style that fits you, keeping and
staying with that style become faster and easier each time
