Rose McGowan

Free spirit Rose was born September 5, 1975 in Florence, Italy. Her parents were members of the cult, Children of God and raised their daughter on an Italian commune until she was ten years old. At that time the family moved to Oregon. Rose left the commune at the age of 15 and legally emancipated herself from her parents.  Her first step as a new “adult” was to move to Los Angeles with plans of entering art school.

Rose was spotted by a director and cast in the film, “The Doom Generation” which had its premiere at Sundance that year. She had several roles including: “Kiss and Tell” “Scream” “Going All the Way” and “Phantoms”. She also appeared in the TV movie, “Devil in the Flesh” in 1997.  For all the work she was doing, her biggest claim to fame at that point would be her appearance with then boyfriend, Marilyn Manson at the 1998 MTV Music Awards. Rose showed up on the arm of the shock rocker in a dress that was little more than strings.  Two years later, Rose would finally gain the role that would possibly define her entire career when she replaced Shannon Dougherty in the WB series, Charmed. She would remain with the show for five years.

In 2006, the ambitious project “Grindhouse” teamed two directors who would each direct a separate movie, and then would be marketed together. Rose had a small role in the first, Deathhouse, but would take the lead in the second Terror Planet. In that film, Rose would be a former stripper who had a machine gun in place of her lower leg.

Rose has the hair of a 1940’s pin up girl, it falls in the soft waves and curls of the era. It is the color of a raging fire, a warning of sorts of the lass herself- beautiful and hot, but dangerous as well.
