Renee Zellweger

Renee was not born to privilege and waited tables at a topless club while paying her dues. Renee opted to perform her duties while dressed. Born and raised in the smallest of small towns, Renee did not see her first art film until she went to the University of Texas in Austin. A strong student, Renee would graduate early with a degree in Radio, Film and Television. Her 1993 small role in Dazed and Confused marked her debut.

In 1994, Zellweger starred in Love and a .45 which ended up nominated for an Independent Spirit Award that year. Two years later she appeared in The Whole Wide World, which earned her a second Independent Spirit Award nomination and would do well at film festivals. Renee starred in One True Thing in 1998, as a journalist who must take time off to care for her wacky mother during the last days of her life. Nurse Betty, in 2000 would win Renee the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy.

Bridget Jones’ Diary was well received and would earn Renee two nominations, one for an Oscar and one for a Golden Globe.  Her next film, White Oleander, however would be met with only lukewarm response despite a well written screenplay and solid cast.  Chicago would mark the second Oscar nomination for Renee, but she would lose that year’s bid to Nicole Kidman, ironic, considering she starred in Cold Mountain with the willowy Aussie as her next project.

Cold Mountain would earn Renee the Best Actress in a Supporting Role Oscar. She would then return to Bridget Jones with the second installment, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. That film did not do as well as the first, but did have solid overseas sales.

Renee had been romantically linked to Jim Carrey and Jack White, and was briefly married to country star, Kenny Chesney.

Renee changes her weight and hairstyle to fit her roles. Her best look is the pixyish cut that plays up her childlike, dainty features and perfect blue eyes. Light blonde looks good on her, but she has gone other shades as well.
