Natalie Portman

Natalie was born June 9, 1981 in Jerusalem and is fluent in both French and Hebrew. Her family moved to New York when she was three years old and she soon began modeling. Natalie was initially turned down for her break out role, producers feared she was too young for the role, but when “The Professional” opened in 1994, Natalie Portman was the young female lead. The following year she got to show off her amazing acting skills with none other than Al Pacino in the film “Heat”.

In 1996, Portman would land a role in a lighter film, but her costars would not be lightweights by any stretch; she was signed on to play the daughter of Jack Nicholson in “Mars Attacks!” After a role in “Beautiful Girls”, Natalie moved to Broadway to play the lead in “The Diary of Ann Frank” She provided voice work in “The Prince of Egypt” in ‘98 but it would be the following year that she got the role that would be possibly among her most famous.

Natalie portrayed Queen Amidala in “The Phantom Menace” in 1999 and was greatly praised for her work. She then appeared in two more films before her education beckoned. “Where the Heart is” featured her first love scene; “Anywhere But Here” found her working with Susan Sarandon.  She began classes at Harvard as a psychology major and informed her agent that she would not accept any more roles until she graduated.  Following her degree’s completion, Natalie appeared in “Cold Mountain”, and bigger roles followed with “Garden State” and “Closer”, the latter of which earned her first Oscar nomination.

Natalie’s hair has changed or has been hidden for roles, including being shaved for V is for Vendetta. Off screen, her hair is a lovely, glossy brown with golden glints that reflect the light and play up her creamy pale skin.
