Janet Jackson

One of the biggest female pop stars of the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, Janet Jackson was born May 16, 1966. She was merely seven years old when she appeared on stage with her famous brothers, The Jackson 5 for the first time and three years later made her television debut on the show “Good Times”. Janet remained with that show until 1979 and then appeared on “Diff’rent Strokes” in 1981. The following year she released her first album which did poorly both with critics and in sales.

Janet had moved on to the series, “Fame”  when she released a second album, “Dream”. This one did worse than the first and Janet seriously considered ending any talk of a musical career. At 18, Janet married James Debarge, a marriage that was later annulled.

After signing a new manager, producers and writers, Janet released “Control” which had a phenomenal six hit singles, the first five were in the top five. In 1989, she released “Rhythm Nation 1814” which enjoyed blockbuster success as well. Three years later, rumors started circulating that Janet had secretly wed for a second time.

In 1993, Janet debuted with a new record label and her song “That’s the Way Love Goes” spent eight weeks at number one. Two years later, Janet and brother Michael teamed up for “Scream”. The video to that song would end up being the most expensive ever made and the song itself would go to number five on the chart, but no higher.

Janet returned to the big screen in 2000 with her role in “The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps”. The film did well at the box office and Janet’s performance was generally received favorably. Then in 2004 Janet was involved in the “wardrobe malfunction” heard ‘round the world when her breast was exposed during the Superbowl halftime show.  Although everybody involved declared it an accident and apologized, the repercussions were huge and affected everybody in all form of media. Janet released her tenth album in 2008.

In recent years Janet has appeared with long extensions and is not afraid to try youthful, trendy looks with her hair. Always a beauty, the reddish gold color adds a blush of fire to her velvety skin and is very attractive.
