Elizabeth Taylor

Born February 27, 1932 in London, Elizabeth Taylor is not only a fabulous actress, she was also the epitome of sexy for many, many years. The exotic beauty was destined for stardom; by the age of ten she was under contract with Universal Studios. Young Elizabeth appeared in two Lassie movies, ( Lassie Come Home in 1943 and The Courage of Lassie in 1946). But it was her role in National Velvet that truly gave her international acclaim.

Adult roles came for Elizabeth in 1947 beginning with Julia Misbehaves and then Little Women, the adaptation of the beloved book. In 1950, Elizabeth had the role of Spencer Tracy’s daughter in Father of the Bride, and reprised the role the following year in Father’s Little Dividend. During this time period, Elizabeth married the first of the men in her life, Nicky Hilton. She was 17 years old at the time. That marriage would not last long, and by 1952 she had moved on to husband number two.

Her role in 1956’s Giant and the follow-up Raintree County proved very successful for Ms. Taylor, and she garnered an Oscar nod for the latter. 1958 was the year for the role that personified her outright sexiness, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Suddenly Last Summer were both adapted from Tennessee Williams’ plays. After the sweeping success of both films, Elizabeth was given her biggest role, and her biggest paycheck - the first million dollar paycheck ever. Cleopatra was described as many as cursed, going horribly over budget and then not doing well at the box office, but the epic cemented Elizabeth Taylor as a Hollywood legend.

Over the years, Elizabeth has sported many different looks, including dying her beautiful hair a brassy, un natural looking blonde, but the best look for her by far is the short, sophisticated mass of curls that frame her face and show off her amazing eyes.
