Elizabeth Shue

Born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1963, Elizabeth played her angelic appearance to her best advantage while she was growing up. She enrolled in Wellesley College which tamed her down a bit, but soon she was looking for something different.

Her first professional acting credit is a commercial for a Florida theme park and by the time she returned to college (this time to Harvard), she had over 50 commercials on her resume. She had bit parts before landing a bigger role in 1984’s “The Karate Kid” which proved to be box office gold. She then went on to appear with Tom Cruise in “Cocktail” and as a frustrated caregiver in “Adventures in Babysitting”.

Elizabeth took a role as a prostitute and turned it into an award winning performance.

“Leaving Las Vegas” will probably always be regarded as one of her best roles ever, and it earned her several independent film awards as well as nominations for both an Oscar and a Golden Globe.

Elizabeth is the mother of two children, a son born in 1997 and a daughter born in 2006. She also managed to complete her degree in political science from Harvard.

Elizabeth has been most recently seen wearing straight, shoulder length hair in a lovely shade of buttery blonde. The curls that were her standard look in the late ‘80’s and early ‘90’s are gone, replaced with a softer, more mature look.
