| Christina Ricci
Ricci was born February 12, 1980 in Santa Monica, California. She began acting at an early age and soon was the girl most likely to “go goth” for a role. Her debut in ‘90’s Mermaids saw her successfully holding her own against Cher and Winona Ryder, but it was her role the following year that most people associate with the young actress. “The Addams Family” was a film adaptation of the beloved television series, and featured young Christina as Wednesday Addams. She reprised the role a second time for the sequel, “Addams Family Values in 1993.
Movie roles in “Now and Then” and “Casper” did not exactly make her a household name, but Casper was likeable enough. She took many dark and slightly twisted roles, further associating her with the image of goth and tragedy, perhaps earning her the role in “Sleepy Hollow” with Johnny Depp.
Christina was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the film “The Opposite of Sex”. She continued to play roles more for their appeal to her, rather than the success that they would have at the box office. Her recurring role in Ally McBeal was well received. Christina took the role as the girl friend of convicted serial killer, Aileen Wournos in the movie “Monster”. That film did well both at the box office and with critics and earned its star, Charlize Theron an Oscar.
Although most people know her best with the long, straight gothic black hair of her Wednesday Addams days, Christina has gone blonde for roles, as well as a very becoming honey gold shade.
