Born in Fargo, North Dakota in May of 1985, CariDee English was on her way to becoming a photographer before she became a contestant and eventual winner on the reality tv series, America’s Next Top Model. That she would find success in front of the camera at all is nothing short of inspiring; CariDee has suffered from psoriasis for much of her life. She is helped with weekly injections of the drug, Raptiva, and has used her success to gain support and research money for the disease.
At times during her competition, it almost seemed that CariDee would be the next model to leave, she had some rocky moments throughout the entire cycle including insulting a photographer during a shoot and a case of hypothermia during another. But somehow, the lovely young woman within her managed to power through what was often described as “attitude” on the outside to shine. She became one of the finalists, facing strong competitor, Melrose, but managed to prevail, walking away with a contract with Elite Models and Cover Girl.
CariDee was the very first, natural blonde to win the modeling contest, and her hair is one of her finest attributes. Long, shiny and beautifully healthy, she keeps it pulled back when she is working behind the camera, but often wears it loose and flowing in front of the lens.
