Loved or loathed, Britney Spears is one of those celebrities that you cannot avoid talking about whether you want to or not. Born December 2, 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana, young Britney wanted to be in front of the camera from an early age. She auditioned for the New Mickey Mouse Club when she was 8 years old, but was told that she was too young at the time. She then was enrolled in the Professional Performing Arts School and retried her bid to become a Mousketeer at 11, this time successfully.
Four years later, Britney came to New York to start going on auditions and to work on demo tapes. In 1998, her debut single was released, followed by the full album one year later. Her role in the Mickey Mouse Club was not her only television appearance, a run on Star Search also gained her some attention as well. Britney’s film debut came in the movie “Crossroads” in 1992, along with a cameo appearance in the Mike Myers movie, “Goldmember”.
In her personal life, Britney married a friend; that marriage lasted only two days. She then married former back up dancer, Kevin Federline; the couple divorced after the birth of their second son.
Britney has been spotted with an eclectic range of hair styles, including her bizarre shaved head incident that was more a cry for help than a fashion statement. Her hair is best known when it is the bleached blonde, vixen mane of her early career, but the light brown that she has occasionally reverted too is attractive as well. A brief flirtation with jet black hair was not as effective, contrasting too starkly with her pale complexion.
