| Ashley Judd
Born April 19, 1968, Ashley is
the daughter of Naomi and half sister to Wynonna, the big
name country music duo. While the musical portion of the
Judd family was out on the road trying to make a name for
themselves, young Ashley was spending time with other family
members, moving from town to town. Although she attended
no less than twelve different schools to gain her education,
she still managed to earn a degree in French from the University
of Kentucky in 1990.
Her first role was in 1987, when she appeared
in Star Trek: the Next Generation. She also had a recurring
guest starring role in Sisters which she kept until 1994.
In 1992, she had a very small part in Kuffs, but her first
major role came the following year with “Ruby in Paradise”.
The latter film garnered Judd her first acting award, the
Best Actress, at the Independent Spirit Awards of 1994.
In 1995, Judd appeared in “Smoke”
and later that same year the film, “Heat”. The
next year she appeared in the made for television movie
“Norma Jean and Marilyn with actress, Mira Sorvino.
That was a busy year for Ashley, she followed up the TV
movie with big screen fare such as “A Time to Kill”
and “A Normal Life”. The 1997 movie, “Kiss
the Girls” did fairly well at the box office, but
the critics did not care for it at all. One of the best
received, both critically and at the box office films of
Judd’s career was “Double Jeopardy”. She
departed from big budget Hollywood outings with the
five person cast “Bug” a psycho-drama that showed
how talented Ashley really is.
Ashley has the same lovely hair as her
mother, with glossy chocolate brown hair that plays up the
darkness of her eyes. There is just a little taste of the
brilliant red of her sister’s hair reflected in the
sunlight.
