| Ashlee Simpson
Simpson was born October 3, 1984
in Waco, Texas. Ashlee had major aspirations at a young
age, at 11 she was admitted to the School of American Ballet,
the youngest ever. At the age of 14, the Simpson family
moved to Los Angeles. Ashlee continued her dancing career,
often appearing in her sister’s stage show. Ashlee
appeared in television shows such as Malcolm in the Middle
and had a regular spot on Seventh Heaven. Her song “Just
Let Me Cry” appeared on the Freaky Friday soundtrack.
Ashlee’s debut album “Autobiography”
was released in 2004. Her follow up, “I am Me”
came the following year. In 2008 Ashlee became engaged to
Pete Wentz, the bass guitarist for the band Fall Out Boy.
She also released her third album which is called, “Bittersweet
World”.
An appearance on the late night variety
show, Saturday Night Live was marred by an odd lip-synching
incident, which the Simpson family tried valiantly to explain
as “medically necessary” citing a minor throat
irritation which kept the young girl from singing for real.
She handled the resulting media fall out with grace and
aplomb and later was able to poke fun at herself over the
mistake.
Ashlee has appeared with different hair
styles and colors over the years, sometimes in a blatantly
obvious attempt to distance herself from further comparison
to her sister. She has dyed her normally blonde hair jet
black, and then went to a more neutral brownish red.
Ashlee has chopped it short as well.
