Anna Nicole Smith

Born in November 28, 1967, the former Guess? Girl died far too soon in February 2007. Vickie Lynn Hogan became a Playboy Playmate of the Month in May 1992 and then later that same year became Playmate of the Year. She also appeared in two Playboy videos, also that same year.

Vickie Lynn had become Anna Nicole by the time she made her film debut in 1994’s “The Hudsucker Proxy” and appeared in “Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult”. The following year she appeared in the racy “Skyscraper.”

Anna Nicole divorced husband Billy Smith in 1987; the couple had one child, a son. She then married J. Howard Marshal in June 1994, a man decades older than her. When he died the following year, it set off a years long struggle against his family, most vocally his son, for the rights to the man’s vast estate. Anna Nicole eventually walked away from those court proceedings with roughly $88 million dollars.

In August of 2002, Anna Nicole appeared in a reality show on E!, which chronicled the former model’s descent into despair. The critics loathed the show, but viewers tuned in to watch what horror would befall the tragic woman next. Tragedy did seem to follow her: In September 2006, her 20 year old son died from a drug overdose not long after the birth of her daughter. That same daughter threw Anna Nicole back into court, facing a DNA controversy as two men swore that the child was theirs. Facing eviction and a false claims lawsuit stemming from a woman’s dissatisfaction with her use of Trimspa, Smith was found in her Hard Rock Hotel Room, unresponsive. She was rushed to the hospital, but pronounced dead within an hour of her arrival there.

Perhaps because of her blonde hair, or perhaps because of the tragedy that her life took, there have been many comparison drawn between Anna Nicole and Marilyn Monroe. Anna Nicole did wear her hair in Monroe’s style for a number of photo shoots, and once posed in a replica of the infamous white dress. Big, poufy hairdos did not suit her very well, and she always looked better when she wore her baby fine blonde hair straight and loose.
