| Alyson Hannigan
Born March 20, 1974, Alyson started
working in television commercials when she was four and
worked fairly steadily from then on. At the age of eleven,
her family moved to Los Angeles to pursue a bigger career
for the young actress in film and television. The move paid
off; Alyson had her big screen debut in 1988’s “My
Stepmother is an Alien” opposite Dan Ackroyd and Kim
Basinger.
Alyson’s role as Willow, the sometimes
comic foil and loyal sidekick to Sarah Michelle Gellar’s
Buffy won her ardent fans as the show, “Buffy the
Vampire Slayer” reached near cult following. That
1997 role was followed the next year by Dead Man on Campus.
Her major stardom may very well be for her role in the offbeat
comedy, “American Pie” in 1999. Two years later,
the pretty redhead reprised her role for “American
Pie 2”. Critics were not as thrilled with the second
installment of the tale, but were still full of praise for
Hannigan’s enthusiastic portrayal of her character.
At a time when most people think of leggy
blondes, or sultry brunettes, Alyson is a breath of fresh
hair with her gingery man of silky red hair. She often wears
it loose and natural, but a few shots of her wearing elaborate
up-dos have been quite lovely as well.
