movement has brought the Western world quite a few of its
stars and superstars, and perhaps none shine as brightly
as Aishwarya Rai. India’s 1994 Miss World aced
in her first film “Iruvar” which netted her
two awards including Best Female Debutante and Best Actress
by Filmfare.
In 2002, Ms. Rai appeared in “Devdas
“which is Bollywood’s most successful film to
date. By 2004, Aishwarya had appeared in over twenty films
in just under seven years. Her first English language crossover
movie was “Bride and Prejudice“, the Bollywood/Hollywood
melding adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and
Prejudice.” In 2007, Aishwarya married Abhisher Bachcham.
Aishwarya’s style is that of classic
beauty, favoring clothing that sets off her lovely complexion
and dark, glossy hair. Her eyes are lovely and almond shaped,
with the dark brown of melted chocolate. Ms. Rai has appeared
in traditional garb, but it is almost a crime against nature
to hide such a lovely mane of raven tresses.
