Most brides, in preparation for their wedding, tend to overlook
a not so minor detail such as their hair style and the hair styles
of their bridal party. This does not come as a shock, as most brides
tend to concentrate their efforts more on their dress, the venue,
the reception, the caterers, the band, and invitations. Most brides
just schedule an appointment with their chosen hair stylist and
will leave it at that.
This, however, should not be the case. You, as a bride, should spend
more time on your hair style preparations. First off, you actually
need to decide on a hair style that will look good on you, something
that will suit your hair type, texture, and your facial features.
This important step is where your stylists role should start coming
into play.
Any good professional hair stylist should not only help you in achieving your desired hair style, but should also help you in coming up with the bridal hair design itself, not just for you, but for your entire bridal party.
Coming up with a bridal hair style and executing it perfectly is not a short or easy process. This matter should be integrated into your wedding preparations and should start months or weeks before the wedding itself. This process, including the creation of the hairstyle on the wedding day itself comes in several steps:
Arrange for your hair stylist to meet with you and the rest of your bridal party as soon as you can. You can invite the stylist to a pre wedding event wherein all your bridesmaids are present so you can talk about the hairstyles you want done. Aside from the hairstyles, you should also talk to your stylist about possible treatments that will be needed prior to the event such as hair straightening or hair coloring treatments. This consultation is also a good way to keep your bridesmaids in the loop hair design-wise.
Once you have decided on the hairstyles for you and your bridesmaids, schedule a trail run at the salon. This is a very important step and should not be overlooked. The trial run will allow your stylist to determine if your chosen hairstyle will work with your hair and whether or not modifications need to be done to allow for the use of your chosen hair accessories. This trial run will also determine the exact length of time needed to achieve your hair style.
This should be self explanatory. You will meet with your stylist, as scheduled, to get your hair and makeup done for the wedding.
