Amrita was born to a Malayali mother and a Punjabi father in Mumbai. She is the sister of Malaika Arora & sister in law of Arbaaz Khan. Her first movie was "Kitne Door Kitne Paas" opposite Fardeen Khan. Although it was not successful at Box Office. "Girlfriend" released in 2004 opposite Isha Koppikar, a movie about a lesbian relationship. Amrita also appeared in ads such as Ponds, Elle 18, After Smoke, Sunsilk fruitamins, Koffee with Karan etc.
