In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means life science. (Ayur means life and veda means science). Ayurveda is a holistic way of treatment, which takes into account various factors like mental balance, lifestyle & spirit. According to some experts, Ayurveda has much more to offer when it comes to hair loss treatment compared to other forms of medicines.

Ayurveda

One of the most famous and widely accepted ways to counter hair loss is the use of Brahmi oil. Apart from hair loss, its been widely used to deal with dry hair, sleeplessness, mental equilibrium, itchy & scaly scalp, anxiety etc. Unlike western medicines, it has no side effect and using it is very simple. Apply 2-3 teaspoons of brahmi oil into scalp & message gently for 10 minutes. You can use a conditioning shampoo to remove the oil.

In order to have healthy and plentiful hair, you need to ensure following:

Your scalp must be kept cool & avoid direct exposure to sun for a longer period. Brush your hair daily as it improves the blood circulation to head.

Take nutritious diet full of Vitamin C, sulfur, iron, zinc, Vitamin B-Complex and essential fatty acids. Avoid all types of junk foods. Avoid Vitamin A as overdose of vitamin A may cause hair loss. The diet should be well balanced and must contain green leafy vegetables, sprouts, salads, milk, fruits, proteins, soybean etc.

Oils (Sesame, Coconut, Mahabhringaraj kesh taila, Bhringaasava, Amla Oil) should be applied to the scalp on a regular basis as it nourishes, lubricates and strengthens the roots of the hair by improving blood flow circulation to the head.

Make a paste of cooked Urad dal (black beans) and fenugreek (methi) and wash your hair with this paste 3-4 times a week.

Mix lettuce with spinach and take it on a regular basis, as it stimulate hair growth.

In addition to head message, you can have handful of sesame seeds every morning. Taking Yogurt is also beneficial unless you are allergic to milk.

Practicing Yoga poses for hair loss (Vajrasana, The Knee to Chest Pawanmuktasan) along with Ayurvedic treatment can give you a new lease of life as both of them are considered as effective way to combat hair loss and free from side effects.
